I am a trauma counselor in private practice.
I’m also a wife, mom, grandma, USAF veteran, animal and plant lover, exercise amateur, and I love a good DIY project.
I love, love, LOVE what I do as a trauma counselor and continue to hone my craft. One of my favorite things to do is learning why people do the things we do and then share what I’ve learned with others to help alleviate emotional pain and suffering. Some people have called me a train-aholic (ha!). I just want to be very good at what I do.
I have been practicing for six years and am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas (LPC, #79216). I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and a Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapist. I am also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and use a host of other, what we call in the counselling world—therapeutic approaches—with an emphasis on resolving trauma-related problems, to include Motivational Interviewing (MI), Family Systems (FS), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Existential and Humanistic therapy, Realty therapy, and attachment theory, among others. My goal is to treat trauma, using whichever modality fits best for my clients.
What I have learned and implemented has helped transform the emotional pain and suffering of those who have experienced disturbing events in their lives.
Transformation is a process. It takes time, effort, support, and resources. It’s not easy, but it’s sooo worth it. Therapy does transform trauma. I am ready to help you with yours.
